Katy Perry knows how to stick to a theme. The singer arrived at the 2018 Met Gala wearing a pair of angel wings, aptly fitting for the "Catholic Imagination" theme for tonight's event.

Though she isn't hosting the event like she was last year, Perry clearly didn't take it easy on the red carpet. She opted for a heavenly custom ensemble from Versace, courtesy of one of this year's co-hosts, Donatella Versace.

“I feel very angelic. Celestial. Ethereal,” Perry said of her look to The New York Times.

And if you thought her look was stunning from the front, just wait until you see the details on the back.

Naturally, Katy got into character and even took a moment to get into a prayer pose on the Met Gala steps.

Aside from the feathered appendages, Perry's look included a gold chainmail mini dress and thigh-high gold boots. With such a statement-making look, the singer didn't need to go heavy on the jewelry. She wore a simple pair of gold drop earrings to finish off the look.

Given her wingspan, Perry couldn't travel via limo like everyone else, but that didn't stop her from arriving in style. The singer came riding in on a vintage topdown convertible (in white, to match her outfit, of course) so she could show off her look on the road, too.

If you're in a look this extra, why wouldn't you flaunt it for every single moment that it's on your body? It's not like you're ever going to wear it again.
