Aimee Carrero & Tim Rock's Majestic Mountain Wedding in Aspen

The Invites

The couple's Poste & Co. invites were a cool complement to their wedding's white, brass, forest green, and hot pink color palette.

The Location

The couple chose Starpeak Estate in Aspen, Colorado for their breathtaking nuptials. "It felt like we were on top of the world, and in a sense, we kind of were. 10,000 feet above sea level to be exact, the highest most of us in attendance that day had ever been," recalls Aimee. "Even though neither of us are particularly 'outdoorsy,' we knew wanted to be connected to nature on the day we made the most important commitment of our lives. We also knew we wanted our guests to feel like they had been dropped into a Walden-esque setting." With those criteria in mind, the couple landed on Aspen's idyllic and majestic mountain setting for their vow exchange and celebrations.

The Bride

Aimee opted for an entirely custom getup by Naeem Khan, which included an A-line dress with a plunging neckline and intricate embroidery as well as a floral appliquéd veil. Shoes from Giuseppe Zanotti and diamond earrings from Hearts on Fire complemented her chic day-of look.

The Menswear

Custom was the fashion theme of the day, which played a hand in Tim's tuxedo and accessories from Thom Browne, while groomsmen elected for tailored
tuxedos from J. Crew.

The Couple

The couple's comfort in front of the camera made working with wedding photographer, Rachel Havel, that much more exciting. In a session with her before their ceremony, she captured a special moment between the pair and Aimee's delicate dress details.

The Bridal Party

Varying in style and hues of grey, two
of Aimee's bridesmaids wore custom dresses by stylist Annabelle Harron and Unbiased LA, while a third modeled a strapless dress from J. Crew.

The Ceremony

Wedding planner Virginia of Bluebird Productions beautifully highlighted Aspen's alpine backdrop by dreaming up a ceremony site that was as equally rustic and refined. "A 200 ft. wooden aisle was constructed among the tall grass leading up to a circular platform covered in white flower petals, where Tim and I would exchange our vows," remembered the bride. "Our friends and family were seated in a semi-circle plan, facing the majestic mountains."

Take a Seat

Three large panels of lucite calligraphed in bold pink that mapped out the seating charts. Tim and Aimee made sure to incorporate personal elements into every detail of their big day, some arising questions and memories from both the bride and groom's past. "Guest tables were named after the streets Tim and I had lived on before we met. Naming the tables was a wonderful exercise for us as a couple. We'd never thought to ask one another the names of the streets we grew up on, or where our first ever apartments were." The sign on the bride and groom's table read "Mulholland Dr.," the name of the street where they made their our first home as a couple.

The Reception

Bluebird Productions created the reception space in and around a full-sail tent with wooden flooring and an array of walkways that led to outdoor seating. "Here's all that needs to be said about the day: It was perfect," says the groom in regards to the couple's ethereal nuptials. Once the sun went down, the candlelit interior of the tent tied in the simple, natural, and modern décor elements that included alternating square and round tables draped in organic linens.

A New Light

One of the most awe-inspiring element of the reception was a living wall of forest greens, created by florist Prema Style, adorned with a bright pink neon sign that read "Love on the Rocks," the couples wedding slogan and hashtag for the weekend.

Bridal Beauty

Aimee channeled the ease, effortlessness and polish of her wedding's rustic setting into her beauty look, wearing her hair down in loose waves and opting for a predominantly nude makeup look, save for standout lashes.

Propose a Toast

Friends and family gave heartwarming speeches that left guests in tears and the couple in awe. The mother of the bride read a poem she had written in Spanish that left everyone emotional, and the mother of the groom gave her own heartwarming toast.

The Cake

D'elissious Cake Studio in Aspen helped the couple with their non-traditional, asymmetric, tiered cake adorned with gold leaf.

The Band

"The best band on the planet performed a repertoire that ranged from old standards, like a medley of "Cheek to Cheek" and "The Way You Look Tonight" for our first dance, to old-school Hip Hop to Disco, to Salsa and Merengue," recalls Tim of Elan Artists' Ground Control who put on a concert-like encore before officially wrapping up the nights festivities. "Before we knew it, the band was saying their goodbyes and the night was over," remembers Aimee, "until a raucous cry of 'one more song!' rose up like a call to arms. The band played "Don't Stop Believing" and everyone went crazy. Before we were sent off into the night in a haze of sparklers and fog, we got on stage and danced and sang with the band. We will never forget that moment."

"To be honest, we love each other–it wouldn't have mattered to either of us [where we got married]," recalls Aimee, "But there we were, surrounded by the most beautiful mountains, engulfed in green, a blue-sky overhead, in the midst of vast magnificence. We were surrounded by our loved ones who had traveled great distances and braved altitude sickness to watch us say, 'I do.' The beauty of the moment was matched only by the beauty of our surroundings." For the reception and getaway, the bride changed into a contemporary custom jumpsuit and feather cape by stylist Annabelle Harron with Stuart Weitzman sandals.
